Great little Indian Restaurant in Herndon Virginia. Buffet is one of the best deals around. I go here for lunch often and have never been disappointed. It's a buffet so the service is limited but that also keeps the price down. One of my favorites for Indian cuisine. All types of dishes from mild to spicy. For dinner they lose the buffet but the dinners come with several sides that are sure to please and the portions are good sized to please most appetites. I like mild to medium spicy food and the place is perfect for me. For the price, one of the better deals in Herndon.

If spicy curry is what you want, then Minerva delivers. Conveniently, located in Herndon near the Dulles Toll Road, Minverva actually offers an array of curried, grilled and well seasoned Indian favorites. The good food is the emphasis here. Don't expect a very interesting or plush ambience. In fact, Minverva's interior is rather plain and uninviting with the rows of tables and lack of lighting or mood. But the food and service more than make up for whatever lacks in the way of atmosphere. One can order a variety of different meat dishes such as chicken, lamb or beef that are prepared in a very delicious curry or other similar type of sauce. The chefs at Minverva are not shy about using a bit of spice in these sauces so be prepared. Although I am told, the spiciness level at Minverva is tame compared to some more travelled Indian restaurants. If sauced dishes are not your thing, then there are excellent straight grilled dishes too. Our table was attended by several well dressed waiters who made sure we had everything we needed and when we needed it. When you order a dinner versus just a la carte, you receive the main dish along with a number of small side dishes that include soup, cucumber sauce and dessert, which was a very light pineapple dessert with a sweet sauce. The Naan bread was fresh and delicious and our main courses were very tasty. All in all, I would recommend Minerva for any casual occassion or if you really want to get an authentic taste of India.
